“Jane Blaffer Owen had an enormous and beautiful influence on those blessed to be observers of her life, recipients of her favorite books, guests at the lectures by theologians, scientists, artists of all varieties and present at salons at the long table in the Red Geranium Tillich Room. She was an intellectual as well as a visionary, a generous and compassionate human being who wanted to give back, share ideas, new discoveries and to inspire. She saw New Harmony as a vessel for this form of lifting lives and she kept the Boat Load of Knowledge afloat on the Wabash.”
The Jane Blaffer Owen lecture series is an effort at continuing and maintaining that legacy of shared knowledge by extrodinary speakers.
The topic for this year’s annual lecture will be “Contemplative Practices with sister Meg Funk“. Watch the JBO lecture series website for more details.
