Harvest Craft Fair – September 30, 2023, at Harmonie State Park. Over 125 vendors, food trucks, food vendors, pioneer demos, kids’ crafts, live music and more.
Moonlight Walk at the Cathedral Labyrinth & Sacred Garden. September 30, 2023. Hunter Moon. 6:30-7:30 pm One block west of the Roofless Church.
Dulcimer Chautauqua on the Wabash – October 5-8, 2023. (These are new dates this year!). Annual fall festival that brings players together in historic New Harmony to develop dulcimer knowledge and playing skills. Don’t play the dulcimer? Attend one of the two staged concerts and enjoy the show!
Meet in the Street – Sunday evening, October 8, 2023. Community-wide potluck. All are invited. Music, entertainment, food, friendship, fun. The event will be set up down the middle of the street in the 500 and 600 blocks of Main Street. Rain date –October 15th.
Wine Dinner – October 20, 2023, Red Geranium.
Haunted Harmonie – October 21, 2023 at Harmonie State Park. Trick-or-treating, scavenger hunt, pumpkin judging contest, campsite decorating and more!
Thrall’s Murder Mystery Party – October 27, Thrall’s Opera House. Hosted by Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites. $10 per person. Pre-registration required. Prizes!
MerryMeeting Show – – October 27-28, 2023. Come join a select group of Early American Life Magazine Directory Craftsmen from around the Midwest for two days of meeting, shopping, and conviviality with our annual market.
Halloween Festivities – October 28, 2023. Lots of fun! 1) From 2:00-4:00 p.m., we will have trick or treating in participating businesses. 2) And the FREE Community Halloween Party is BACK! For years, Nancy and Kenny Weinzapfel and a large group of volunteers produced an incredible Halloween party for hundreds of kids. After a hiatus, Nancy and Kenny have happily empowered a new team of leaders and volunteers to carry on the tradition. The party will be from 4-7 pm at the Holy Angels Catholic Community Center at 423 South Street. There will be food, games, prizes, costume contests, live music, trunk or treat, Photo Booth, crafts, and more!!! Sponsored by One New Harmony. Look for details about a decorated golf cart trunk or treat in connection with the big party.
Lecture at the WMI – November 7, 2023, 6:30-7:30 pm. Friends of the WMI present Mr. Bishop Mumford. “Farming in the 21st Century here in Posey County: Precision, Sustainabliity, Profitability and where we fit in”
Christmas in New Harmony Festival – December 1-3, 2023. This is a family-friendly way to immerse yourself in the Christmas spirit. The festivities begin Friday night with the New Harmony Inn’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. With candles, music, refreshments — this beautiful event begins at 5:30 in the courtyard of the New Harmony Inn. The community Christmas tree will be illuminated in Redbud Park. Later Friday evening, The Bergamot will perform at Thrall’s Opera House. Saturday features three parades — an old-fashioned parade with floats and fire engines and marching bands; a lighted night Christmas golf cart parade; and a pet parade. You’ll find vendors with a wide selection of items, from jewelry to home decor and you will enjoy experiencing the town of New Harmony dressed up in its Christmas finery, looking like something out of a Hallmark movie. Carolers, horse & carriage rides, a gnome scavenger hunt, Candyland for the kids, special food offerings, entertainment, The Nutcracker Ballet. The Christmas home tour with will take place on Sunday, allowing ticketholders to see a half dozen properties in town beautifully decorated. Tickets may be bought in advance or the day of the tour.
The Big Holiday Party – December 30, 2023. This party features The Brothers Lewis band, wonderful food, a cash bar and more! Details to come!

Kunstfest – always the third weekend in September. In 2023, it will be September 16-17.
Dulcimer Festival (Dulcimer Chautauqua on the Wabash) – October 5-8, 2023. (Dates may vary from year to year.)
MerryMeeting Show – October 27-28, 2023. (Dates may vary from year to year.)
Christmas in New Harmony Festival – the first weekend in December. This year it is December 1-3, 2023.
The First Brush of Spring Plein Air Paintout will be held April 17-20, 2024.
Golden Raintree Antique Festival (aka New Harmony Antique Show) – always the 2nd weekend in June. Next year, it will be June 8-9, 2024.
Firefly Festival – Held during a Friday and Saturday of June. Date TBD for 2024, but it will likely be the weekend closest to the dark of the moon.
TOURS!!! You have options!
— Every day but Monday, there are tours that depart from the Atheneum Visitors Center at 1:00 pm led by University of Indiana’s Historic New Harmony division. Tours cover a wide range of New Harmony historic locations and begin with a special short movie about New Harmony.
— Wednesday through Sunday hour long tours of the Indiana State Museum & Historic Sites depart at 11:00 and 3:00 from Community House #2 at 410 Main Street. These tours focus on the historic properties owned of two Utopian communities — the Harmonists and the Owenites, including Community House #2, Thrall’s Opera House, the Rapp-Owen Granary, the Fauntleroy House, Thrall’s Opera House, as well as the Harmonist Cemetery.

— Preschool Storytime for kids and their caregivers each Thursday at 10:30 am at the Working Men’s Institute Museum & Library
— “Timeless Treasures” Exhibit & Sale at the Hoosier Salon until July 9.

American Legion Post 370 at 516 E. Church St – Open Monday through Saturday Currently, 12-5 Monday and Tuesday, 12-9 Wednesday and Thursday, and 12-11 on Friday and Saturday. The public is invited any time for food, but cannot drink alcohol unless it is one of the 5 rotating guest days per month or a member signs a guest in. Call to find out this month’s guest days.
Black Lodge Coffee Roasters at 610 Church St. – Open every day except Wednesday. 8:00 am – 3:00 pm each day but Monday, when the closing is at 1:00.
The Main Cafe at 508 S. Main St. – Open every day except Sunday. Breakfast and lunch. Monday – Saturday 6:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Red Geranium (and Grapevine Bar) at 504 North St. – Open every day but Monday and Tuesday.) 8:00 am – 8:00 pm Wednesday & Thursday; 8:00 am to 9:00 pm Friday & Saturday; on Sunday, open from 8-2 and 5-8.
