LFN Textiles
LFN Textiles specializes in designing extraordinary fabrics, handweavings, and rugs and other household textiles. Its owner, Laura Foster Nicholson, is a textile artist known for her handwoven tapestries. With a BFA from Kansas City Art Institute and an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, she has lectured, taught, and exhibited in the US, Canada and Italy. Her artwork is in several museum collections, including the Art Institute of Chicago, The Minneapolis Institute of Art, and the Denver Art Museum among others. Grants & awards include an NEA fellowship, the Leone di Pietra prize at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, three Illinois Arts Council fellowships, and a grant from the Graham Foundation for Research in the Fine Arts.
LFN Textiles designs ribbons and household textiles for companies such as Renaissance Ribbons, Crate & Barrel, Land of Nod, Monticello, Larsen, Inc. & others. She also writes about color and color trending.
Laura Foster Nicholson’s unique textiles, ribbons, framed prints and more can be found for sale in several locations in New Harmony, including her New Harmony-themed items. LFN Textiles products are sold at the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art, at The Mews, and at New Harmony Farmers and Artisans Market in the warm months.
Laura’s weaving studio, on the second floor on Main St, is open for visits by appointment only to view some of her collection of tapestries and other products. You can also shop with Laura online through her Etsy store.
