Enjoy a Weekend of Art at the Arts in Harmony Festival, June 3-4

The Festival Planning Committee and New Harmony Business Associates are proud to once again host the annual Arts in Harmony festival!
Join us on Saturday, June 3rd from 9:00AM to 5:00PM and Sunday, June 4th from 10AM to 4:00PM as celebrate the world of art all around us. This year’s festival will emphasize art advocacy and a “Celebration of the Written Word,” featuring national and regional authors, writers, and poets.
Visit New Harmony as these wordsmiths share their knowledge, readings, and discussions throughout the weekend. Authors in attendance include Kaylie Jones, J Patrick Redmond, Patricia A Smith, Judy Mandel, Mark Thompson, Mindy Kronenberg, Tom Raithel, Linda Neal Reising, Mark Williams, Shari Wagner (Indiana’s Poet Laureate), Jessica Thompson, and many more!
Arts in Harmony will also feature some incredible music! Saturday performances include Kayla Smock (blues/folk), Ronnie Lee (classic rock), Osiella, and the Boscoe France Band (hard blues, 2012 Gibson Blues Guitar Competition National Winner)! Be sure to return on Sunday as we welcome the Wolfgang Mozart Dixieland Jazz Band and Brett Gibbs Trio Plus!
As always, Arts in Harmony will feature talented fine artists and craftspeople (50+) who will be displaying and selling their work along Granary Street and in the Owen-Rapp Granary. Enjoy art genres such as painting, pottery, photography, weaving, woodcarving, jewelry making and more. Visit some of your favorite artists and many first timers!
The schedule of events during Arts in Harmony 2017 is as follows (weather permitting):
9:00AM—Festival opens to the public
11:00AM—Live music begins with Kayla Smock
      12:30PM—Ronny Lee
        3:00PM—The Boscoe France Band
11:00AM—Celebration of the Written Word Author Presentations begin with Kaylie Jones, J Patrick Redmond, and Patricia A Smith
      12:15PM—Judy Mandel
       1:30PM—Poets Corner: Readings and discussions by Local and Regional Poets, featuring Shari Wagner, Indiana’s Poet Laureate.
      3:00PM—Student Writers: Open Microphone to feature selected local college and aspiring authors (USI, UE, etc.)
5:00PM—Festival closes
10:00AM—Festival opens
12:30PM—Celebration of the Written Word Presentations begin, featuring Children Stories from the Working Man’s Institute
        1:15PM—Mark Thompson Publishing and Local Children Authors
      2:00PM—The New Project Presentation
1:30PM—Music begins with the Wolfgang Mozart Dixieland Jazz Band
      2:30PM—Brett Gibbs Trio
4:00PM—Festival closes
