October 26 (Saturday) @ 10:00 am - November 9 (Saturday) @ 11:00 pm

The word confined can be defined as a restricted area or space, being restricted, or refer to the feeling Victorian women felt living a life of limitation. In this exhibition you will feel all three. Confined: A true Victorian experience, follows the story of three women; Mary Jeffries, Adeline Tanner and Jane Doyle in the mid to late 1800s. These were real Victorian women whose life stories have been slightly altered but remain true at their core. This allows the viewer to take a trip back in time to feel the struggle women felt and immerse themselves into a historical experience. The artworks in this exhibition are not conventionally framed and offer a truly unique experience.

From October 26th-November 9th come see “Confined: A True Victorian Experience” by our very own Megan Thorne. The closing reception on November 9th will begin with a Victorian High Tea with an authentic Victorian menu from 4pm-6pm. Tea costs $5 to attend and only 25 spots are available. Please RSVP for this ahead of time with Megan Thorne at megan@mnfinearts.com or call the gallery at 812-682-6127.

After 6pm the reception becomes a traditional Art After Dark and is open to the public. This will be a 21+ event. Tours of the show, which will be set up in the gallery basement, will be given in groups of 5 throughout the evening.
