Join us for New Harmony’s 35th annual German festival & artisan fair in the walkable village of New Harmony as we celebrate our German heritage with food, music, crafts, and a wide selection of local shops ready to embrace our tradition. Enjoy Harmonist Bier, Indiana’s first brew at RainTree Brewing located in Sara’s Harmony Way.
“Kunst” means art in German. Over 10,000 attendees are expected to help us celebrate the art of the 35th Kunstfest festival.
The streets will be covered with black, red, and gold to represent the German flag as over 200 vendors descend upon them. You can expect everything from antiques, collectibles, and locally made ornaments to hot tamales, pork chops, brain sandwiches, and so much more!
Bring the kids to celebrate our heritage, and participate in live demonstrations by skilled craftsmen replicating historical crafts of the 1860s and 1870s. Demonstrations include the art of blacksmithing, rope making, and basket weaving to name a few.
Other activities include painting at the Hoosier Salon, tours of our vibrant business district, children’s activities, and more!
Please note that we will not be allowing dogs during this year’s festival. Shuttles will run all day from the Atheneum and old school parking lots. Kunstfest 2017 is sponsored by the NHBA Education & Activity Fund and the New Harmony Business Associates.
From our abundance of unique and enchanting shops and galleries to our award-winning visitor center and highly rated restaurants, there’s just too much to do in one day in New Harmony. Come for the whole weekend and stay overnight to enjoy all that New Harmony’s Kunstfest has to offer!
