Description
The father of American Entomology, Thomas Say, first described the Angled Candle Firefly in 1826 when he lived in New Harmony.  This firefly, which has since become known as Say’s Firefly, became Indiana’s state insect and has enchanted Hoosiers throughout time with its magical glow.  Join us for this evening “glow” walk to learn more about these amazing insects, Thomas Say, and what you can do to help protect them for years to come. Participants should bring a flashlight, but there will be some to share.  Everyone will receive glow jewelry, but can bring some of your own to make the evening more enchanting. Meet at the Fauntleroy Home (411 West Street).
